End-of-Life & Environmental Profile
Biowrap products are engineered to biodegrade in modern bioactive landfill environments through microbial processes under anaerobic (low-oxygen) conditions commonly found in active landfill systems.
The material is designed to remain stable during normal storage and use, only beginning the biodegradation process once exposed to landfill conditions where microbial activity is present.
Under anaerobic landfill conditions, the material is intended to be consumed by microorganisms over time, contributing to biogas generation as part of the natural decomposition process.
Biowrap materials are evaluated using recognised international testing methods, including ASTM D5511 and Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) testing. These methods assess anaerobic biodegradation behaviour and biogas generation under controlled laboratory conditions. Results may vary depending on landfill environments.
Recycling
Where industrial soft plastic recycling exists, this wrap may be recyclable. Availability varies by region, so please check locally.
