Biowrap mailing satchels are durable, 60 micron thick bags designed to protect goods during shipping. The self-adhesive back flap allows satchels to be sealed quickly and securely for efficient packing and dispatch.
The satchels can be recycled where appropriate with other soft plastics or disposed of in general waste, which typically enters modern landfill systems.
Biowrap products are engineered to biodegrade in modern bioactive landfill environments through microbial processes under anaerobic (low-oxygen) conditions commonly found in active landfill systems.
The technology is designed so the plastic remains stable during normal storage and use, only beginning the biodegradation process once it reaches landfill conditions where microbial activity is present.
Biowrap materials are evaluated using recognised international testing methods, including ASTM D5511 and Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) testing. These methods assess anaerobic biodegradation behaviour and biogas generation under controlled laboratory conditions. Results may vary depending on landfill environments.
