Silage Wrap – Landfill Biodegradable

Biowrap’s silage wrap film protects round bales of silage from UV exposure, moisture, and other environmental factors, helping maintain silage quality during storage.

The film can be recycled with soft plastics where appropriate facilities exist, or disposed of in general waste, which typically enters modern landfill systems.

Biowrap products are engineered to biodegrade in modern bioactive landfill environments through microbial processes under anaerobic (low-oxygen) conditions commonly found in active landfill systems.

The technology is designed so the plastic remains stable during normal storage and use, only beginning the biodegradation process once it reaches landfill conditions where microbial activity is present.

According to international laboratory BMP and ASTM D5526 tests, biodegradation behaviour is evaluated under simulated anaerobic landfill conditions, although results may vary depending on landfill environments.
